Woodwork and carpets and furnishings conjure up the exotic middle east. The menu covers the usual range of Afghan cuisine with some curries not often found. Spicy pickles are a welcome accent to most meals. Aromatic spiced milk-tea or Turkish style coffee ends the meal with flourish.

I don't get into the city very often, but I make a point of meeting people in this neighborhood when I do, because everyone I bring enjoys this place. It is just exotic enough to be interesting, but not overwhelming for people who might be averse to the unusual. That goes for the food as well as the atmosphere. The service is also "just right" -- they don't hover and they don't ignore you -- they just show up when you need something. And take my advice get to know the owners because they will make you look good. They will remember you next time you come in and treat you well. :-)
